Over a dozen U.S. Army Spec Ops (Special Operations) soldiers are currently cornered in a compound in Marjah, Afghanistan. U.S. defense officials have told Fox News that they are completely surrounded by Taliban fighters.
“On the map there is one green dot representing friendly forces stuck in the compound, and around it is a sea of red [representing hostile forces],” the official told Fox News
A USAF Combat Search and Rescue team, along with their HH-Pave Hawk, are trapped with the Spec Ops soldiers after trying to retrieve a wounded soldier who later passed away. The Combat Search and Rescue teams helo struck a wall with its rotor blades.
An AC-130 gunship has been called in for airstrikes and will remain above their position for the night.
