Lun-class Ekranoplan: Forbidden visit. In August 2020, somebody travelled all the way to Daguestan to explore the inside of the only Lun class Ekranoplan ever built. The MD-160 Lun entered service with the Black Sea Fleet in 1987. It was retired in the late 1990’s and stored at the Kaspiysk naval base (Caspian Sea) in Daguestan. In July 2020, plans were announced to refloat her and tow it to Derbent, where it would then be taken to a “Patriot Park” type of open air display/museum.
