Developing Stories and Yes… I Said ‘Stories’
Russian Forces Ordered to Withdraw from Western Kherson
Russian forces have officially been ordered to withdraw from western Kherson city, as Russian officials have admitted that it was becoming more and more difficult to keep resupplying the city. In a statement made by Gen Sergei Surovikin, commander of Russian forces in Ukraine:
“In these circumstances, the most sensible option is to organise the defence along a barrier line along the river Dnipro.”
But this is not the only major breaking story.
Deputy Leader of Kherson Killed in Car Crash
The apparent withdrawal was announced just minutes after Russian media broke the news that deputy leader of Kherson, Kirill Stremousov, had been killed in a car crash. Stremousov was one of the more senior Russian-appointed officials, as he had been the deputy head of the Kherson region and was wanted by Ukrainian officials for treason.
According to reports (which are still unconfirmed at this time), Stremousov was killed in an accident on the highway between Kherson and Armyansk in Crimea.
When more information becomes available, we will update you on the situation.
