Poland’s Quest for the Largest Tank Force in Europe
Remember…. They have already signed a deal for 1000 Black Panthers, too …
Polish Ministry of Defense Signs New Deal
In their quest to have the largest tank force in Europe, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced this past Wednesday that a deal to buy a second batch of M1 MBTs from the United States has been signed.
In a deal estimated to be worth $1.4 billion, the Polish Army will receive 116 M1A1 Abrams tanks with related equipment and logistics starting this year. This comes on top of the 250 upgraded M1A2 Abrams tanks that will be delivered sometime in 2025-2026.
Previous Deal with South Korea for Black Panthers MBTs
Keep in mind, Warsaw also inked a deal to acquire/locally produce up to 1000 South Korean Black Panthers MBTs last year. With the first batch already arriving in Poland last month, it is safe to say that Poland is not mucking about anymore.
