Russian Air Force IL-76 Crash in Ryazan

Four people are confirmed dead after a Russian Air Force IL-76 crashed while attempting to land in the city of Ryazan. The aircraft was said to be on its way to Belgorod on the Ukrainian border when the incident happened. It is currently unknown whether it had been carrying any troops on board. However, it is believed that there were at least 10 people on board.

Condition of Russian IL-76 Aircraft

Now, it must be pointed out that most of Russia’s IL-76 aircraft are over 30 years old and, unfortunately, have earned a poor reputation. Poor maintenance and lax safety standards have resulted in a number of incidents involving the aircraft.
